Selling pet products in Europe
Europe is a large market for pet brands and one where buyers expect a local-looking delivery. The practical differences from the UK are that you are dealing with several countries rather than one, and that each has its own carrier for the final leg.
How your parcels get there
European parcels normally travel with YunExpress or 4PX and are handed to a local carrier in the destination country for final delivery, so your customer gets tracking they recognize.
We do not force every parcel down the same route. The line we use depends on the destination, the weight and size of the product, and how fast you need it to arrive. When a product is awkward, whether bulky, heavy or restricted, we tell you before you start selling it rather than after the first shipment is stuck.
Duty and tax are paid before delivery
Every parcel ships Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). Import VAT and any duty are settled before the parcel reaches your customer, so nobody in the EU is asked to pay a charge on their doorstep. The delivered price we quote you already includes it. Your own VAT registration for sales made through your store is separate from this and stays with you as the seller.
One honest note. Import rules change, and they change faster than websites get updated. Because every parcel ships Delivered Duty Paid, keeping up with them is our job, not your customer's.
